Values-based Narratives

Jose Antonio Vargas believes that storytelling has the power to humanise the conversation around migration. In 2011, he founded Define American, an organisation which aims to have an open dialogue about the criteria and limits that are often placed on ‘who belongs’ to a nation. As a writer and filmmaker who happens to be an undocumented migrant himself, for years Vargas has been tirelessly standing up for the equal rights of migrants, regardless of their status.
